New York City trip for Fox News

The Fox News Channel producers invited me, as well as Kelley, Larry, and Janice Brown, to New York City this past weekend to tape a Memorial Day special for The Huckabee Show. We paid our respects at Ground Zero, and the Browns placed their copy of FEARLESS on the edge of the Memorial North Pool that is rimmed by the names of those who were killed in the World Trade Center Tower One on September 11, 2001. As Larry said, “This is where a big part of Adam’s story began, right here…” Spending those two days with the Brown family was another testament to their own personal bravery as they honored Adam by sharing their memories in front of a live studio audience (all of whom received a copy of FEARLESS) and cameras that are the eyes of millions of viewers. Here are a few photos from the weekend; Ashley Boyer, my publicist at Waterbrook Press/Random House was our host and guide. Thank you to Joan, Governor Huckabee, and all at The Huckabee Show for the warm welcome and very special show to air this weekend, May 26 and 27. A big thank you also to Adam’s former teammate from SEAL Team FOUR and Team TWO, Brian Valenza, for coming on the show at the request of the Browns and sharing his memories of Adam as a SEAL.

Our segment on The Huckabee Show will air Saturday, May 26 and Sunday, May 27.  Check your local Fox listings for times.

Kelley placed her copy of FEARLESS on the rim of the Ground Zero memorial fountain that sits in the footprint of WTC Tower One. It is rimmed by the names of those killed in that tower on September 11, 2001. Nobody missed the significance that the book there on the edge represented the bookends to that tragic day. At once, we thought of both the victims of that horrible day, and Adam, a story of one of many who gave all, to avenge their deaths.
